The Burdekin Bridge is 1,097 metres (3,600 ft) long, only 46 metres shorter than the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Construction commenced in 1947 and took 10 years to complete. IN 2010 it was recognised as a National Engineering Heritage Landmark.
