To change to Yungaba site
Naturalisation ceremonies in future will be held at Yungaba State Immigration Centre, Kangaroo Point.
Yungaba has been the reception centre for British migrants since 1885.
Announcing the change yesterday, the Immigration Minister (Mr. Riordan) said the object was more colourful and significant ceremonies.
Naturalisation ceremonies in the past have been held in police courts.
It is expected that ceremonies in other Queensland centres will be held in city, town, and shire halls.
