REGULATING CHINESE GARDENERS
By-laws made at the instance of the Commissioner of Public Health, under Section 133 of the Health Act of 1900, for preventing the spread of infectious diseases, have been approved. The by-laws are in force over the while of Queensland, and provide that vegetables shall not be stored or kept in any house occupied by market gardeners; or in any place but a well-ventilated shed. Vegetables are not to be washed in water receiving the drainage from slaughter yards or other similar establishments, or in water otherwise polluted. Any vehicle used for the conveyance of vegetables must be kept clean. Manure, offal, or similar matter shall not be buried near the banks of creeks, but shall be mixed with earth and buried in deep trenches as far as possible form the creeks. WYNNUM: The recently constructed portion of the Wynnum Central State School is to be officially opened by the Minister for Public Instruction, Mr. Bruce, at 2.30 p.m. tomorrow.
