The original photograph caption makes reference to National Fitness Camp.
The first National Fitness Camp was held at Currumbin in August 1943. After World War 2 it moved to a new site on Taliebudgera Creek and was held annually during the summer. The site was renamed the Tallebudgera Recreation Camp in the 1980s.

Notice that Innisfail is to be included in the Australian National Airways service in the future was received at Thursday’s monthly meeting of the Johnstone Shire Council.
The Chairman, Cr. C. J. Duffin, remarked “It is pleasing to see that Innisfail has not been forgotten and that we still may get some recognition.”
