TAMBORINE MOUNTAIN.
At the invitation of Mr. and Mrs. A. Q. Dean about 50 guests assembled at the Eagle Heights Hotel last Wednesday evening to celebrate the New Year. The rooms were decorated with festoons of coloured streamers Interspersed with electric light bulbs and evergreens. Dancing and parlour games were enjoyed. Miss Mackenzie was encored for her rendering of a Scotch reel, and Miss Howard delighted the audience with a display of the sword dance. Mr Taylor gave an exhibition of high-stepping. Those present included: Messrs. H. Bishop, W. C. A. Boblnson, F. Holzapfel, Fred. W. Taylor, E. F. Bicher, B. Henderson, T. Fulton, J. Beeves, J. Dwyer (Gatton), Lucemore (Rockhampton), Laurie (Rockhampton), Hewitt (Toowong), H. Martin (Nudgee), T. Bell, and B. W. Jackson, and John Irvine (Mayne); Mesdames H. Bishop, W. C. A. Robinson, E.
