Following the disastrous fire at Townsville Bulk Sugar Terminal in May 1963, small explosions were felt by the crews cleaning up the damage. The Inspector of Coal Mines at Rockhampton, Charles McPherson, was rushed to Townsville to investigate and compiled this report.
