As the holiday season rapidly approaches, the Australian Koala Foundation (AKF) is launching its highly anticipated annual Christmas Catalogue for 2024, offering shoppers in Brisbane and beyond a chance to support the iconic Australian marsupial.
Headquartered in the heart of Brisbane CBD at Level 1, 40 Charlotte Street, the AKF is gearing up for a successful festive sales period, with all proceeds going towards its mission of protecting and preserving the nation’s beloved koala population.
The 2024 AKF Christmas Catalogue features a diverse range of carefully curated items, from children’s toys and homewares to classic stocking fillers. Shoppers can also opt to purchase a koala adoption, plant a tree, or donate to the foundation as a meaningful gift for their loved ones.
The foundation encourages Brisbane residents and Australians nationwide to start their holiday shopping early to ensure their purchases arrive in time. The international shipping cutoff is Friday, November 22, and the domestic cutoff is Friday, December 6.
The 2024 AKF Christmas Catalogue is now available online, offering shoppers a convenient way to support the foundation’s vital work while ticking items off their holiday shopping list.
Brisbane City will host country music star and Australian Koala Foundation (AKF) ambassador Andy Penkow as he debuts his new song “Heavy on Me” in a special concert at the AKF headquarters.
On Thursday, 26th September 2024, Penkow will perform an exclusive 40-minute set at the AKF Loft on Charlotte Street in Brisbane City as part of Save the Koala Day celebrations.
A select group of fans, handpicked by Penkow’s team, will have the opportunity to witness the world premiere of the song, alongside its accompanying music video, which was produced in collaboration with AKF cinematographer Jon-Michel Mooney.
Raising Awareness Through Music
Penkow’s new song, now reworked to include themes related to koala conservation, ties in with the AKF’s “Join the Chorus” campaign. This year’s Save the Koala Month highlights the importance of collective action to protect koalas and their habitat.
“The themes that have been included in this new version are so relevant for the plight that Koalas are currently facing, and how our humanity is the only thing that can help them,” added Tabart.
Penkow, who is passionate about koala conservation, shared his hopes for the partnership with AKF: “Being a Koala Army Ambassador is an honour, and it’s a cause close to my heart. Music has the power to inspire change, and through this partnership, I want to contribute to the AKF’s mission in a meaningful way.”
A Natural Fit for a National Icon
Known for his deep ties to the Australian landscape and his commitment to conservation, Penkow has already garnered significant attention in the Australian music industry. His recent awards and nominations, including three People’s Choice Awards and a Golden Guitar nomination, have further solidified his place as one of Australia’s leading country music talents. His latest collaboration with the AKF showcases his passion for using his platform to make a positive impact.
The AKF, as Australia’s principal non-profit organisation dedicated to koala conservation, continues its work in ensuring the protection of koalas and their natural habitats. Events like Penkow’s concert help raise both awareness and much-needed support for their ongoing efforts.
