COUNTRY NEWS.

Messrs. Storey Bros, report that the new bore on Burrenbilla, put down by William Woodly, has been completed at a depth of 1887 ft.; estimated flow, 8,000,000 gallons per day. The water rises 7ft. 6in. above the fin casing.

BARCALDINE.

With dry weather, shearing is going along smoothly. Curlew cut out, and the team of men went on to Bowen Downs. Taree has started and several other properties have their shearings in full swing.

Townsville TAFE Technology Building, June 1987

University College of Townsville, now James Cook University, opened in the Townsville suburb of Pimlico in 1961 and moved to its current site from 1967. The Pimlico site was vacated in 1980 and became the Townsville TAFE campus, now part of the Barrier Reef Institute of TAFE.
