Benefits for Miss A.I.F. Competition Candidates

A barbecue, horse sports, dances, and bridge have been arranged to help entrants in the Miss A.I.F. competition. The campaign is already in full swing.

A novel entertainment was the barbecue arranged by Miss Gloria Carrier at her home in Coorparoo last night in support of Miss Lorna Fenner, the Telephone’s Branch candidate. Sixty guests attended and enjoyed an al fresco supper roasted over the coals. Singing competitions and other novel items were enjoyed, and among the guests were the Acting Superintendent of Telephones (Mr. J. Adamson), the Assistant Acting Superintendent (Mr A. B. McMillan), and Mr. L. Morrison (representing the commercial section).

At their rooms, Nasco House, Ann Street, last night, the Protestant Labour Party held a dance to assist the funds of Miss June Fiori, the Cave of Gems candidate, who is also receiving
